As this month we held out Alumni Meet ‘23, we decided to interview one of our successful alumni, Mr Swarup Raj Dhungana, who is currently working as a Project Delivery Lead, at the CloudFactory. We grilled him on why he chose TBC, how it has helped since he graduated, and what advice he would pass on to future students of the College.

Hi Swarup, so first of all - what made you choose TBC and what did you do after you graduated?

I chose The British College so that I could have an International educational experience on home soil. And it was a great choice - as after graduating I was lucky enough to receive the prestigious ‘His Majesty King’s Scholarship’ from the Royal Thai Government and went on to complete my Master’s in Information Management from the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand.

And what about TBC has helped you most in your current career as a Delivery Project Associate at the CloudFactory?

TBC focuses on practical knowledge and in this way, the assignments and projects mimic real-world scenarios - which really helped to prepare me for work life. And the modules I took, such as Project Management, Database, and Business Intelligence have given me an incredible start in my current role where I am often project managing.

What did TBC teach you, and what advice would you give to current and future TBC students?

TBC taught me that there is no cap on knowledge and that we never stop learning. If I can use climbing Everest as a metaphor - if that is your goal, then University will teach you the basics of how to walk, and how to read maps - but you will still have to make the effort if you’re going to make it to the top. So as long as you work hard, TBC will give you all the support that you need to make it.

Thank you so much! We can wait to hear what you achieve next!
