Wine Tasting Program

The British College has an exemplary reputation for Hospitality courses, with its central focus on the strong link between theory and practice. Recently, TBC launched a Wine Tasting Programme for its Level 3 and Level 4 BSc(Hons) Hospitality Business Management students with Mr Prakash Gurung, the owner and founder of Himalayan Wine Academy as the instructor on its brand new state of the art practical arts area, inclusive of a kitchen, restaurant and reception.

The programme lasted a whole day with our students learning the main types and styles of wine along with common wine grapes and their characteristics.  In addition to learning about making food and wine pairings,  they were trained about salient etiquettes in wine tasting such as how to describe wine using the Systematic Approach.

Different Types of Wine that were used in Wine tasting Program:

  1. Sauvignon Blanc Casillero Del Diablo
  2. Cabernet Sauvignon Casillero Del Diablo
  3. Pinot Grigio, Lindemans Bin Series
  4. Bin 99 Pinot Noir, Lindemans Bin Series
  5. Chardonnay, Calvet
  6. Baron de Arignac (Sparkling)
  7. Moscato, Dulzino (Sweet White)

This event gave TBC the opportunity to let its BHM novices obtain a new appreciation of wine and expand the knowledge of the very enthusiasts. TBC believes such fieldwork with industry partners will help the students obtain some hands-on experience to compete in an increasingly competitive, globalised world.
