I've noticed it's been quite some time since we spoke about the top moments of TBC’s International Mobility Programme in Dubai - so I decided to write you a jolly good travel blog and take a moment to shine a light on what IMP at TBC is like in a nutshell. I’ve even included some snaps of the trip!

If you are not from The British College, let me tell you what the International Mobility Programme (IMP) is all about before heading straight into my travel experience.

The IMP is an annual excursion offered to all students, providing them with the chance to travel to Dubai.

This short-term programme is crafted to complement the theoretical aspects of students' courses with practical learning experiences, including visits to specialised areas such as schools, industries, corporations, and cultural venues.

Dubai, a city of dreams and endless possibilities, offers an experience like no other. So, here are my highlights from the unforgettable 5-day trip:

Day 1: Setting Sail on a Sparkling Night

My journey began as we all landed at Sharjah airport, full of excitement and anticipation. Staying at The Leela Hotel, our trip kicked off with a delicious lunch and a well-deserved rest.

That evening, we set off for a breathtaking cruise where we danced the night away to a sensational performance and enjoyed a sumptuous dinner. The dancer pulled many of us spinning onto the floor and overall it was a great first day!

Day 2: Exploring the City's Marvels

After a delightful breakfast, we embarked on a thrilling city tour. Our first stop was the awe-inspiring Dubai Frame, offering breathtaking views and fantastic photo opportunities.

We then made our way to Jumeirah Beach, collecting sea shells and soaking up the sun. A metro ride to the iconic Palm Jumeirah was next, followed by a visit to the expansive Dubai Mall.

Of course, a trip to the mall wouldn't be complete without marvelling at the Burj Khalifa! I got myself lots of clothes and a few bottles of perfume (because “I am just a girl…lol”).

The day then ended with a memorable visit to the Global Village, where the world came alive with sculptures and a lively carnival park.

Day 3: Embracing the Ferrari Spirit

Our fantastic guide, Mr Atul, named me the "Ferrari Girl" for the whole tour group as it was a great coincidence that my outfit perfectly matched the Ferrari theme - which is basically red and black (Ps. Let me act as if I didn't have Pinterest from Nepal myself !)

With that thrilling title, we set out for Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi but first, we made a pit stop at Dubai's Last Exit, a quirky rest area with a vintage car theme.

It was a great way to kick off the day with some last-minute snacks and fun photo ops before our Ferrari adventure - and once we reached Ferrari World, the excitement hit a whole new level!

The exhilarating roller coasters and thrilling games made for an adrenaline-pumping day. The Flying Aces ride tested my courage with its speed and twists, while the VR experiences and go-kart racing brought out the competitive racer in me.

I still laugh about the part where my spirit animal kicked in and I forgot all about the break in the go-cart! I was super excited about the racing and even had some lovely spectators increasing my spirit by hooting and motivating me the whole time.

I felt like a true speedster as I zoomed through the park, and the whole experience was an absolute blast! Ferrari World lived up to its reputation, and I proudly embraced the Ferrari Girl persona throughout the day.

Later, we returned to Dubai for the spectacular fountain show, which left me teary-eyed with its beauty and charm.

Day 4: Shopping and Desert Safari Adventure

The morning began with a shopping spree at Meena Bazaar, where I found great bargains on electronics, gifts, and chocolates. Then the afternoon was all about the desert safari, with an exciting land cruiser ride and dune bashing experience.

Our driver made the day extra special by gifting me a beautiful head scarf and some jewellery. The night camp show then featured a mesmerising firework display, cultural dances, henna art, and a mouthwatering barbecue dinner.

Day 5: Saying Goodbye to Dubai

As the journey came to an end, it was hard to say goodbye to this extraordinary city. Dubai's vibrant culture, stunning architecture, and thrilling adventures have left me with cherished memories that will last a lifetime.

Dubai is a magical city that offers something for everyone. Whether you're seeking adventure, luxury, or culture, Dubai is sure to exceed your expectations. We embark on our journey and let Dubai captivate us with all its wonders!

So, I would like to thank The British College, Swa holidays and our wonderful guides, Mr Rupesh and Mr Atul Sirs, for such a wonderful experience.
