Job Responsibilities:

The Chief Technology Officer at The British College plays a crucial role in shaping the technological landscape of the institution, fostering innovation, and contributing to the success of both academic and operational initiatives.


1. Technology Leadership:

  • Provide visionary leadership in the development and execution of the college's technology strategy.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential impact on the college's objectives.
  • Collaborate with executive management to align technology strategies with overall business goals.

 

2. Product Management:

  • Lead the development and enhancement of digital products and services in alignment with the college's mission and educational objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements, prioritize features, and drive product development.
     

3. Educational Technology Integration:

  • Work closely with academic departments to integrate cutting-edge educational technologies into the curriculum.
  • Provide guidance and support for faculty in utilizing technology to enhance teaching and learning experiences.

 

4. Teaching Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in the teaching of IT-related courses to students, sharing industry knowledge and practical insights.
  • Foster a dynamic and engaging learning environment that prepares students for the challenges of the digital age.
     

5. Strategic Planning:

  • Contribute to the development and execution of the college's overall strategic plan, with a focus on leveraging technology for competitive advantage.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency improvement through technology.
     

6. Staff Development:

  • Build and lead a high-performing technology team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for IT staff.
     

7. Community Engagement:

  • Represent the college in relevant technology forums, conferences, and industry events.
  • Build relationships with external stakeholders to enhance the college's reputation in the technology and education sectors.
     

Qualification

  • Doctorate degree preferred 
  • Masters’ degree required  

 

Requirements

  • Identify documents (Citizenship/Passport) 
  • Proven experience in a senior technology leadership role 
  • Excellent client-facing, leadership and analytical skills 
  • Strong background in Information Technology, product management, and educational technology
  • Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills 
  • 15 + years of experience in relevant field
